About this project

Gomeroi/Kamilaroi Country on NSW’s north-west slopes and plains, in the north-west of the Murray-Darling Basin, has experienced severe degradation over the last 100+ years due to intensive agriculture, grazing, and associated water management regimes.

Current climate changes are exacerbating these impacts as droughts become longer, floods and heat extremes more intense, and climatic zones shift, impacting on species’ viability and biodiversity.

This project creates and supports opportunities for cross-cultural, interdisciplinary, and intergenerational knowledge sharing on Country to address these challenges.

It enables Gomeroi/Kamilaroi custodians and youth, environmental experts, management authorities and tertiary students (planning, geography, and science), to learn with and from each other and improve Indigenous/non-Indigenous collaboration for climate change mitigation and adaptation in NSW. This website aims to support our goal of knowledge-sharing.
